Fighting the Fight Within 5K (FFW) is an event we bring to the community to not only honor and remember those that have lost their battle within, but to take up a torch in their memory to continue raising awareness about veteran suicide and the struggles our service men and women face.
FFW is made up of a 5K professionally timed run and a 2-mile tribute walk.
Pricing:
5K is $35 per person from April 21-June 21; $40 (no shirt guaranteed) from June 22-August 6.
We will be awarding the overall top male and female (not eligible then to place in respective age group) as well as the top 3 males and females in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
2-Mile Tribute Walk is $22 per person; kids 5 and under are free with no swag included for them.
Race Day Schedule (subject to change):
Onsite check-in: 8:00-9:15 am
Opening remarks as start line: 9:30-9:45 am
Race Start: 5K 10:00 am; 2-mile 10:05 am
Closing Ceremony/Awards: 11:45/Noon (shortly after race end and results tallied)
Note: There will also be a farmers market and area food trucks available on site to purchase food.
We welcome everyone to come out and challenge themselves to run a 5K or take a 2-mile tribute walk. Bring your family, friends, or co-workers to run or walk together. Feel free to dress in patriotic colors, or wear a shirt to represent a military branch or in memory of someone you’ve lost. Make this your yearly family event!
Funds raised will help support our outreach center (Belay My Last Barracks), transitional housing project, the Staff Sergeant Drew Kostic Veterans’ Scholarship at Northwestern Michigan College, and allow us to continue to offer free programs, resources, and support to our local area veterans.

This is our yearly Grand Traverse Pie Certificate Fundraiser for 22 2 None. Everyone loves pie and these are great for gifts with the coming holidays. The monies raised from this fundraiser support our annual Fighting the Fight Within 5K trail run awareness event, our outreach center: Belay My Last Barracks, transitional housing project, the Staff Sergeant Drew Kostic Veterans’ Scholarship at Northwestern Michigan College, and allow us to continue to offer free programs, resources, and support to our local area veterans. With your help, our mission is possible and continues. Together we can Fight the Fight!
In store value of the certificates is $20.00 - they are good for one year, do not carry over a balance, nor can they be redeemed for cash back. You are encouraged to use the full value of the certificate at the time of redemption. Certificates can be used to purchase any items on the bakery or food menus. NOTE: These are now accepted at all locations however it is encouraged that you redeem them at the Traverse City locations.
